About Femke Kleisen

Femke Kleisen was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. Since her childhood she has loved to express her creativity. She matriculated at Pro Arte High School majoring in subjects like sculpting, fine art and design. Obviously she wanted to work with her hands to be able to produce her own ideas.

Femke’s passion for designing, shaping and creating was expressed at an early age in designing and manufacturing jewellery.

After receiving her qualification as a goldsmith in the Netherlands at the “Middelbare Technische Vakschool” in Schoonhoven, Femke returned to Pretoria in 1995 where she has been successfully running her own business as a goldsmith. Her strength lies in creating unique jewels inspired by nature as an artist.

Currently Femke lives in the Netherlands again and continues with her designs. In the studio in South Africa, Rinus Franken produces her designs in gold, silver and platinum.
